Barbara Larrivee's does indeed focus on classroom management and interaction styles that better align with the teacher's role as social mediator or learning facilitator. Given the daily tasks of managing teaching and learning in the classroom, the text not only provides a way of viewing problems as opportunities to co-create better solutions, build relationships, and teach their students new coping and self-management strategies; but it also provides many authentic and productive ways of resolving issues and internalizing self management for the students.
I highly recommend this book because it presents more practical and authentic ways for dealing with the complexities of daily classroom life.

I love the little activities in it but they can be difficult when you are in school learning about classroom management and not actually a teacher because they want you to self reflect on your actions. Hard to do when I aren't a teacher yet. But for those already in the field I am sure it would be a great resource
